The ShopRite LPGA Classic will be played in late May at The Bay Course at Seaview in Galloway, New Jersey.  As part of the tournament’s charitable impact, the title sponsor of the event, ShopRite (officially owned by Wakefern) is partnering with First Tee to offer an incredible opportunity to one (1) deserving member of the Class of 2026 from each of twelve (12) First Tee chapters in the region.  Luckily, First Tee – Connecticut is one of those chapters.

The scholarship application is attached and one (1) winner from our chapter will be chosen to receive a $5,000 scholarship along with an invitation to attend the scholarship presentation on Sunday, May 31 during the final round of the ShopRite LPGA Classic in Galloway, NJ.  *Please note that in-person attendance will be required to receive the scholarship so to be eligible you must confirm that you and an adult are able to travel to New Jersey on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31.

ShopRite Scholarship Application

Each winner will receive a trip to the 2026 ShopRite LPGA Classic which includes:

  • One (1) hotel room at Seaview, A Dolce Hotel for Saturday, May 30 for the recipient & chaperone(s)
  • Two (2) tickets each for the Saturday and Sunday of the ShopRite LPGA Classic

The deadline to submit your application is Thursday, April 30 and the winner will be notified by Friday, May 8.  Completed applications should be returned to Mark Moriarty by email; [email protected] or by mail; 55 Golf Club Road Cromwell, CT  06416.  Please let us know if you have any questions at all or if we can support your successful completion of the application.

Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • GPA
  • extracurricular activities
  • financial needs
  • length of involvement in the First Tee
  • the chapter’s firsthand experience with the applicant
